DescriptionAnnual John Henry Cardinal Newman Lectures sponsored by The Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) This year's Newman Lectures address advancements in neuroscience. As the technologies that allow its study and application extend the frontiers of possibility, philosophical, ethical and social reflections arise as we approach the boundaries of what is known, unknown, and perhaps unknowable. Information About IPSFounded in 1999 in Arlington, Va., IPS is a Catholic graduate school of psychology offering master's and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology, and a master's degree in general psychology. The Institute's unique curriculum integrates the science of psychology with insights about the human person from theology and philosophy. IPS is training its students to use this integrated approach along with empirical methods for comprehensive assessment and therapeutic intervention.
