Is there any charge to use your service?
No. There is no charge to search for a therapist on this site.

Do the therapists listed accept insurance?
Each therapist is independent. Some participate in insurance plans and some do not. We recommend you discuss this and payment arrangements with a prospective therapist before scheduling an appointment.

Do the therapists listed here work on a sliding scale?
Each therapist sets his or her own fees. You should discuss the fees up front before you schedule an appointment.

Is Catholictherapists.com owned or funded by the Catholic Church?
No, catholictherapists.com is a private resource provided to help you find a qualified therapist of the Catholic faith in your area. Our mission is to provide therapy referrals and information that are faithful to the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

Does Catholictherapists.com provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services?
No. Catholictherapists.com is a private resource provided to help you find a qualified therapist of the Catholic faith in your area. Catholictherapists.com does NOT provide counseling services. Nothing on the website is intended to serve as a substitute for the kind of services that only a therapist can provide.

Are the therapists listed here licensed?
Yes. Most states require a license to provide counseling and psychotherapy services. Some states do not require licensure. In states that do not require or license therapists, those therapists may not be licensed.

Are the therapists screened on this site?
Each therapist must fill out an application and be in agreement with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. In addition, each therapist must provide a copy of their license, proof of professional liability insurance and provide both a professional and clergy reference. Each therapist profile indicates whether or not references have been received yet for that therapist. Our screening is not a substitute for proper screening by the prospective client. We urge you to ask questions before setting up an appointment and follow your own instincts when choosing a therapist. If you are uncomfortable for any reason when speaking to a particular therapist, we suggest you refrain from engaging that therapist and select someone else.
