Message from Therapist

First, I want to thank you for even considering using my services.

I provide short-term, solution-focused therapy and work mainly with adults. I realize that therapy can become expensive and try to keep the number of sessions manageable. I do not accept insurance but this has not presented as a big problem for many who have contacted me.  My areas of expertise are with helping people overcome fears and anxieties, obsessive compulsive behavior, scrupulosity, anger towards the Church, marital conflicts, interpersonal relationships, depression, and issues related to self esteem.

Clients that come will be encouraged to use prayer and the Sacraments of our Faith as part of the treatment process. Pray that God guides you in making your decision to consider my services.

Remember, many people who call me requesting services do not actually really need treatment. They need guidance, advice, and support. However, those that do need therapy, I am happy to help.

I am happy to try and help you with your situation. Whenever anyone contacts me through CatholicTherapists.com, I am generally able to offer them a free 20-30 minute consultation over the telephone. This allows me to obtain a better understanding of the presenting issue.

Dr John Chavez, PHD is a Clinical Psychologist providing video consultations. He has over 35 years of experience. He graduated from Claremont University (Clinical Psychology Doctorate Program) medical school in 1984.

Dr. Chavez is also a Secular Discalced Carmelite.
