I’m hearing a lot of despair out there about the upcoming election and the economy. Worst of all it’s coming from some of my most devout friends! Sure, the future is uncertain, but in truth, isn’t it always? We never really know what the next day will bring.

The number one weapon in the devil’s arsenal is despair. Number two is discouragement. I think we need to turn off the TV and stop listening to the polls and just pray and trust. This isn’t the first election where the polls declare a winner early only to be adjusted as we get closer. The media is way far left and the polls are often slanted. That should come as no surprise. They want to discourage us. Pray, hope and don’t worry, as Padre Pio used to say. God is in control and He loves us.

The power of prayer is stronger than anything the enemy can muster up. God is stronger. God is more powerful. All of hell itself is no match for God…(and hell is certainly manifesting itself this time around.) Trust Him. He loves us. ALL things work together for good for those who love Him. Pray with confidence my friends! Confidence brings down God’s graces. He wants us to trust Him. We have to trust in His love for us and we have to trust in His power. He has a plan! He would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah if He would have found only 10 just men. Our job is to be those just men (and women), get on our knees, pray, fast and more than anything else TRUST!!
