Message from Therapist

Welcome to my profile. My name is Patience and I am a Catholic therapist based in California. I provide private counseling sessions to individuals and couples living in California, both in-person office visits and through a video conferencing platform.

I apply therapeutic techniques and interventions, while integrating the values of the Catholic faith into sessions. My approach enables clients to benefit from both traditional counseling, and the gifts of their Catholic faith and Christian identity.

I also work with an associate level therapist, who specializes in working with children and teens, also integrating the Catholic faith at the preference of the clients. Feel welcome to visit my website to learn more about either of us: patiencedayton.com

Sessions are 45-50 minutes in length.

Bio:
I provide therapeutic services that stay true to traditional Catholic values. I especially enjoy integrating the Catholic faith into sessions, while utilizing evidenced based practices and counseling techniques. My approach is greatly influenced by the teachings of St. John Paul II and his work "Theology of the Body".

Since 2006, I have been working in the field of mental health and social services in a variety of capacities (hospice care, shelters, behavior modification, crisis counseling, academic institutions, non-profit, private practice, and more). In 2018, I shifted my focus to psychotherapy and counseling services, specializing in working with the Catholic population. I currently have a private practice in Sacramento, CA and provide both in person and video appointments to individuals living in California.

More About Patience Silva (Dayton), MSW, LCSW

I am a Catholic therapist working independently in private practice. I provide therapeutic services that stay true to traditional Catholic values. I especially enjoy integrating the Catholic faith into sessions, while utilizing evidenced based practices and counseling techniques. My approach is greatly influenced by the teachings of St. John Paul II and his work "Theology of the Body"

I was raised in a traditional Catholic family with very loving parents and 7 siblings. However, I strayed away from my faith when I was a teenager and I learned quickly how much a person can lose. Through God’s mercy, I found my way back to the Catholic Church. During this process I fell in love with St. John Paul II’s Theology of the Body. The profound experience has shaped my approach to therapy and deepened my desire to counsel those who need healing.
