Message from Therapist

Hello and Welcome-

Blessings to you and the situations and people you hold in your heart during this holy season. I want you to know that I have a great respect for and celebrate the courage that is sometimes needed to take new (or renewed) steps towards healing.

For over 25 years, I have been blessed to journey with and serve a wide variety of people from all walks of life and all ages. It has been an honor for me to minister to people in their moments of crisis and/or sadness as well as in their moments of victory and accomplishment.

God has given me opportunities to serve people for over 15 years in Church settings; as the Director of Adult Faith Formation journeying with people through losses, crises and varieties of joyful moments too. I have also had over 10 years of experience serving people in therapeutic contexts (group homes and clinics).

My approach to working with clients is very collaborative. Each client that comes to me is a person made in the image and likeness of God. I receive each person as a child of God with their own unique call, dignity, integrity and agency.

It brings me great joy to help clients heal from and overcome their disappointments, losses, trauma and relational difficulties so they can be free from the old in order to say "Yes" to every new and good thing God is offering them. It is enormously fulfilling to help my clients rediscover their inner strengths and resilience in order to journey from survivor to thriver. It has also been deeply gratifying for me accompany so many clients in their journey of healing, seeing them attain and experience a variety of great victories in their lives.

I look forward to having a conversation with you about what you are looking for in a therapist.  I look forward to journeying with you on this incredible adventure of discovery and healing.

In His Peace, Love and Healing Grace-
Greta Rosenberger, LMFT

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My Yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My Yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Bio:
I have years of experience serving people in both ministerial settings and therapeutic contexts. I was blessed to have the opportunity to major in Psychology and Theology in my undergraduate years at Smith College in MA.
After college, I had the opportunity to enter into a trust journey with God by backpacking around the world by myself. During that year, I learned so much about myself and about trusting in God and His Providence.

Upon my return to the US, I moved to Berkeley, CA and worked in a group home for at-risk youth, which immersed me in at-risk youth's reality of what it's like to struggle to survive with little family or community support. This immersion gave me a window into their lives which cause me to grow in my admiration for their resourcefulness, resilience, perseverance and hope for better days in the future.

After two years working with at-risk youth, I had the opportunity to enter into a seminary to receive training to become an ordained Congregationalist Pastor. During my 5 years of Theological Study earning my Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Moral Theology and Spirituality in Berkeley, I got to know and journey with (both spiritually and academically) the Franciscans, Dominicans and Jesuits. As I spent more time with these holy and humble consecrated people, I began to realize that my theology, spirituality and community was more Catholic than it was Protestant even though I loved my years of service in protestant churches, especially as an Associate Pastor at a Protestant church. In 1998-99, while writing my Master's Thesis on St. Theresa of Avila's Interior Castle, I decided to make the journey into full initiation in the Catholic Church.
During that time, I also completed an internship (CPE) of being a hospital chaplain in a Medical surgery unit and in an Adolescent Psychiatry unit.

For over 14 years, I have served Catholics in Church settings as the Director of Adult Faith Formation, leading Adult Bible Studies, Evangelization efforts and the RCIA.

In 2014 I attended a graduate program in Counseling Psychology and gained training in therapeutic techniques at a local Christian Counseling Center. I graduated from the program Summa Cum Laude. My years of working in group home settings for at risk youth, serving people in churches, as well as my years of training at the Christian Counseling Center prepared me for the work that I do with my clients today.

My approach to my clinical work is deeply collaborative as I listen to my client's stories and struggles and help them discover solutions that lie deep within them and in their relationship with God and others. My relationship with God calls me to have a stance towards each client that respects and celebrates their unique giftedness, dignity, integrity and agency as children of God, created in His image.
My approach to this healing work is client-centered; respecting the client's agency, dignity, pace and approach to working together. I have worked with many individuals and couples to help them discover new hope and new pathways forward in their relationships with each other and with God.

I have been blessed to witness so many of my clients heal so deeply that they feel much freer to more fully embrace the unique call that God has on their lives.

More About Greta Rosenberger, MS, MA, MDiv, LMFT

As a private Catholic therapist, I have been working along side of the other Christian therapists in Christian Counseling Center (locations in Fremont and Hayward, CA) for over 10 years.

At the Counseling Center, we meet people where they are at and graciously accompany them to help them get to the next place (ie.- attain their goals for their lives).

Through active, empathic, non-judgmental listening as well as equipping clients with the coping skills and tools they need to attain their goals many people have experienced victories in their lives that they never thought possible.
