Jacob Escobedo, MSW, MAPS, LCSW is a clinical counselor and psychotherapist with a passion for supporting individuals and families on their journey towards healing and growth. With specialized training in clinical practice with individuals and families, as well as pastoral counseling, Jacob offers a unique blend of evidence-based therapy and faith-based support for those seeking an approach to mental health consistent with their values.

Jacob is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective therapy for processing traumatic experiences and promoting healing.

For those coping with grief, Jacob provides compassionate support to individuals navigating the complex emotions of loss, helping them find meaning and hope amidst their pain.

Whether you're facing a career change, relationship issues, or other life transitions, Jacob can offer guidance and support to navigate these challenges with resilience.

Additionally, Jacob utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness to help clients manage anxiety and OCD symptoms.

For those experiencing depressive symptoms, Jacob works collaboratively with clients to explore underlying factors contributing to depression and develop coping strategies to improve mood and well-being.

 Jacob favors a  "bottom-up" approach to therapy, focusing on building a strong foundation of safety and trust before exploring deeper emotional work. Jacob integrates elements of EMDR, Gestalt, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy , and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify their strengths and develop practical strategies for achieving their goals.

In addition, Jacob incorporates expressive modalities such as sand-tray, therapeutic play, art, and music to facilitate creative expression and deeper insight. 

With dual master's degrees in Social Work and Pastoral Studies, Jacob brings a diverse skill set, a commitment to honoring the Catholic view of the human person, and a deep understanding of the intersection between mental health and spirituality. Drawing upon his education in pastoral counseling, Jacob offers support to individuals seeking to integrate their Catholic faith into their therapeutic journey.
