Message from Therapist

With an educational background in philosophy, theology, and mental health, I utilize a holistic approach to integrate body, mind, and spirit to help client find healing.  My background as a counselor involves working with families, individuals, and couples across a multitude of settings which has resulted in a diverse clinical experience.  The time I spent in the seminary has also given me a rich experience of Catholic philosophy and theology as well as influence from excellent teachers and healers within the community.

I utilize Narrative Therapy to assist clients explore and deconstruct destructive narratives about themselves and then collaborate together to co-author a new narrative based on the client's goals and history of values.  I have found this approach to be extremely beneficial for people from all walks of life including couples, adolescents, adult individuals, families, and elderly populations.

My background allows me to assist clients by providing a safe and encouraging environment while helping clients view the problems they struggle with from a spiritual perspective.  Life is full of challenges and I am here to assist clients through their struggles to find a more fulfilling life, heal from traumatic experiences, and reach their goals.

Bio:
I felt called to become a counselor after spending time in the seminary and witnessing firsthand the need for healing among families in the Catholic faith. After spending four years in the seminary, I discerned that God was calling me down a different path and I departed from the North American College in Rome. My time in the seminary gave me the opportunity to work with homeless populations, federal prisons, juvenile prisons, veterans, disabled individuals, and Catholic families.

After I obtained my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I came to Cleveland and spent 3 years working at the Diocese of Cleveland Catholic Charities where I found more opportunities to expand my experience and develop my clinical skills. I have extensive experience working on a wide variety of issues with children, adolescents, college students, couples, and families in both group and individual settings.

In 2020, I founded my private practice Sacred Heart Counseling in Northeast Ohio to provide holistic services grounded in the Catholic tradition to help people find the healing that they need.
