Message from Therapist

I am a Catholic, Clinical Psychologist and published author, licensed in California and Connecticut.  I provide psychotherapy for various issues including depression, anxiety disorders, and relationship difficulties.  My specialty is working with adults going through life transitions and struggling with stress or trauma-related problems.

Treatment typically involves discussing issues related to very upsetting events (past or present) and self-defeating behaviors.  Through my creative, integrative approach, we can address areas allowing you to have more hope and a sense of peace.  I respect what you're ready to discuss and we'll work together on making your individualized plan for an improved life.

As an important element in recovery, I pray regularly for my clients and their healing.   I strive to accompany people in an authentic, Christ-centered way that treats the whole person.

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, do I give unto you.
Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid."

(John 14:27)

More About Stephanie Field, Psy.D

Copper Beech Psychological Services was named after the copper beech tree-- a majestic tree symbolizing wisdom and transitions.  It is in this spirit that we continue the journey of healing, connecting with strong rootedness in Christ.

My practice integrates different therapeutic modalities designed to strengthen your ability to physically calm yourself and to make meaning out of difficult situations and feelings. I specialize working individually with adults going through life transitions, stress, trauma, and loss.  Often, the stress will manifest in relationship and intimacy difficulties as well as depression and anxiety.

I provide a safe space to connect with and express parts of yourself that may have been previously disconnected and suppressed by stressful circumstances.
