Message from Therapist

Are you are thinking any of the following:
"How long will I be grieving this loss?"
"When will I be happy again?  Can I be happy again?"
"I don't like change.  I am scared of change."
"Why can't my spouse understand me when I speak?"
"I am so stressed out I don't even know where to begin."

If you can relate to any of these statements, you are not alone.  I work with individuals and couples who have similar thoughts.

In our first session, I will get to know you and what your goals are. I will provide you with different techniques as we work together.

I have extensive experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and with life transitions and relationship Issues.

I specialize in helping individuals who are grieving a loss regardless of the length of time the special person has passed away. I work with individuals who are navigating uncharted waters of grief. Grief can be overwhelming and difficult to know who to open up to and how much to share.

I strive in creating a warm and inviting space for clients to feel comfortable and safe to share their experiences in their own time. I practice solution focused, client centered, narrative, motivational interviewing and systems approach style in therapy.  I want to help you in your journey of self-discovery, developing positive coping skills and hope.

I was raised in the Catholic faith.  I believe in what our faith teaches and I incorporate Catholic faith-based counseling into sessions with my clients.

Bio:
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with over 16 years of experience in direct counseling and case management. I have worked with couples, families and individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, relationship issues, grief and transitional adjustments.

I am a Certified Grief Educator (trained by David Kessler). It can feel lonely when you are grieving - whether that is the death of a loved one, loss of a relationship, etc. I am available to be beside you during this journey.

I am a wife and mother of two. I have experienced traumatic experiences such as having my first born being a premature baby and experienced a wide range of emotions during that time. I have also experienced grief when my mother passed away and know how such a loss and change in extended family dynamics impacts your immediate family. Each experience and role I am in, shapes who I am and my journey as wife, mother, friend and therapist. My faith has helped me during these times in my life. I am continually learning more about Catholicism in order to grow.

More About Elisabeth Zaragoza, MS, LPC

My family has a very strong Catholic faith for many generations.  I saw the strength it provided for my great grandmother, grandmother and my mom.  My mom instilled a strong faith and I continue to grow in my faith.  I work very hard to instill those same qualities and beliefs in my children.  In therapy, I believe that with the guidance of Our Lord and Our Lady, we can work together to help you through what you are experiencing.

I am inspired by several Catholic podcasts and priests.  I gain insight when I listen to Father Chad Ripperger and I am presently reading his book Introduction to the Science of Mental Health.
