"Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.'
He said, 'Come."
Matthew 14: 28-29

Jesus does not stop the storm in order for Peter to get out of the boat, but instead invites him to step out even while the storm swirls around him. If you've found yourself in a stormy period of life being tossed about by the "waves," and have felt a tug on your heart to consider counseling (which based on the fact that you're reading this I think is very likely) it might be Our Lord's invitation to take this step forward. While pain and suffering will inevitably be a part of our lives, they need not have the last word.

Feel free to reach out with any questions you might have about potentially working together or if you would like to schedule an appointment!

Bio:
Originally from Northwest Indiana ("The Region"), I was born and raised Catholic. From the time I was eight years old, the Catholic faith has been the cornerstone of my life. I spent four years in seminary formation throughout my undergraduate studies discerning a call to the priesthood. Although, I eventually discerned that I was not called to priestly ministry (and am now living the married vocation with my beautiful wife and child), the formation I received and experiences I had did provide countless opportunities to encounter people in a wide variety of circumstances. This gave me an unshakeable desire to be a beacon of God's hope, mercy, and love in the world.

I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University and my Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Marian University here in Indianapolis. I have extensive experience working in a wide variety of clinical setting. My theoretical orientation has its foundations in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, though I also draw on the tenets of Behavioral Therapy and Existential Therapy. While I primarily work in the area of individual therapy with clients age 18+, I have experience working with married couples with the Gottman Method. My clinical areas of focus center on Anxiety, OCD, Depression, Men’s issues, Communication, Life-Transitions, Faith/Spirituality.

More About Adam Antone, MA, LMHC

My time in seminary formation offered me the opportunity to grow in understanding of Scripture, modalities of prayer, and after having a Jesuit spiritual director over those four years, I am well acquainted with Ignatian spirituality. As a result, I am happy to incorporate scriptural insights from works like "The Discernment of Spirits" into sessions.

Central Psychological Services is a practice consisting of Catholic clinicians who are faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church.
