* ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS. *
CALL OR EMAIL TO BEGIN YOUR HEALING

I provide a place for a client to incorporate their faith into the therapeutic process where God is acknowledged as the primary source of healing.

Be Still Counseling currently offers both in-person and telehealth visits. Sessions can be done in the comfort of your own home. If choosing telehealth, sessions are conducted via the SimplePractice platform.

I understand it can be intimidating or scary to make the choice to engage in counseling. Perhaps you had a bad experience before? Perhaps you are unsure if it will work? I cannot promise to fix everything, but I can promise I will try my hardest to foster the healing process at your own pace.

Do not hesitate to reach out. God Bless you.

Practice Info

Bio:
Andrew Phinney LCSW has a Master Degree in Clinical Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. He has extensive experience working with adult individuals, adolescents and couples in diagnosing and treating a variety of mental, behavioral, emotional, and relational issues.

Prior to opening his private practice "Be Still Counseling Services, Andrew worked as a school social worker, a clinical therapist at a residential treatment facility for youth and an outpatient therapist for a clinical agency.

Andrew opened his private practice, "Be Still Counseling Services", after noticing a lack of faith-based counseling focused on Catholic-Christian and Non-Catholic Christian principles in many areas of Maine.

You DO NOT HAVE to be Catholic or Christian to receive his services. Every client's different faith traditions or lack thereof are always respected.

More About Andrew Phinney, LCSW

A non-judgmental atmosphere is created where you can explore your life without fear or worry. I have found approaches focused on interior integration and healing of wounds or traumas as especially powerful in one's healing. These approaches include EMDR and therapies focused on Ego-States or "Parts Work" such as Ego-State Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I also find the works of Dr. Conrad Baars and Dr. Anna Terruwe to be of great value. Most importantly however, a strong therapeutic alliance is fostered in which you and I work together to create goals, and I help you reach them. Therapy should always be client-driven, not therapist-driven.
