In my time as a counselor, I have witnessed tremendous suffering that cannot be alleviated with secular counseling methods alone. This realization led me to opening my own private practice, Emmaus Catholic Counseling, where I seek to integrate the Catholic faith with mental health treatment.
As you would expect from any other counselor you may visit, I am trained to utilize evidence based practices that are proven to be effective by research. However, being a Catholic counselor means that I invite Jesus into the healing process as well. It also means that I view the whole person with inherent dignity and worth while looking to the Church and Her traditions to assist in our understanding of reality and the human person. This includes access to a wealth of additional resources such as prayers, saints, Scripture, and the Sacraments. Know that you do not need to be Catholic to seek services at Emmaus Catholic Counseling. I will always respect the beliefs and values that you hold to be true. However, as a Catholic counselor, I will never contradict the Church’s teachings in the interventions and techniques that I choose to incorporate in our work together.
In my relationships with my clients, I take a team approach and incorporate your own strengths, gifts, and life experiences to help you reach your goals. My favorite part of my job is helping you heal from past wounds and find authentic joy in your relationships with yourself, others, and God. I look forward to meeting you!
All appointments are virtual and you must be in either Indiana or Kentucky at the time of the appointment due to licensure requirements.
