Message from Therapist

Hello! I'm Dr. Bia Lima.

I am a mental health counselor and for many years I have worked specializing in individual therapy for adults, children and adolescents, and also couple and family therapy. I am passionate about helping others overcome conflicts and learn effective coping skills. Life can be hard sometimes!

I believe that everyone, including children, can learn to give a new meaning to what happens in their lives, overcoming difficulties, and growing as a person.

I like to say that being a counselor is more than a profession. To me, it is a ministry - a way of serving God and being His instrument in helping others. Being a counselor is also a great joy! I love getting to know each of my clients, help them navigate through their challenges, and witness their progress.

As a mental health therapist working with children, teenagers, individuals, and families of all different backgrounds and challenges, I have learned there is one simple wish that all clients share: that they would be happy and thrive.

I'm here to help you and your family. Contact me with any questions or to book an appointment.

More About Bia Lima, PhD, LMHC

Dr. Bia Lima is an empathic, caring, and non-directive therapist. She believes that every person is constantly making choices, taking responsibility, and giving meaning to what happens in their lives. Dr. Lima believes that, when receiving the right kind of support and space to process feelings and emotions, everyone has the potential of overcoming difficulties and growing as a person.

In addition to her more than 15 years of experience in the counseling field, Dr. Lima is a full-time mother, learning to balance her two passions of family and work. She has a loving husband and five children in ages from 5-13 years old. She likes to say that her calling is not only to help other children, individuals, and families overcome difficulties and experience growth, but also to be a good mother and wife – by serving, loving, supporting, and enjoying her loved ones at home. Besides soccer games, church events, and piano/band recitals, Dr. Lima and her family also enjoy hikes, family trips, going to the beach, and having game/movie nights at home. A devout Catholic family, Dr. Lima and her husband are passionate about teaching their children about God’s love, peace, and hope. As a counselor, Dr. Lima offers faith-based therapy to receptive clients and believes faith and spirituality are great assets in promoting personal growth.
