Message from Therapist

I provide professional therapeutic techniques and utilize insights from the rich tradition of the Catholic faith to treat many forms of emotional and psychological suffering.

I believe man was made in and for relationship and that my role as a therapist is one of companionship. The word is beautiful in its etymology, which roughly translates to "bread fellow" in the Latin. My role in your life is one who shares bread along your sojourn. My hope is to sit down with you and come to understand your perspective so that we can work together toward your healing and restoration.

Bio:
Christopher graduated from Divine Mercy University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is seeking to serve the population of Fort Collins, Colorado. Moreover, Christopher holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Connecticut.

Throughout Christopher's education, he developed a genuine interest in the Desert Fathers and hopes to weave their teachings into his approach to therapy. He also received a Catholic based education on trauma, receiving his Certificate of Clinical Traumatology from the Green Cross Academy.

Prior to becoming a private practitioner, Christopher worked at Harvest Farm in Wellington, CO where he gained experience working with addiction and recovery. During his time at Harvest Farm, Christopher began his education to receive a license in addiction counseling, which he hopes to receive in early 2024.

Christopher is married to his beloved wife, Sarah, and they have been gifted with their firstborn son in May of 2023. Christopher and Sarah seek to build a holy culture in their home that is a sign of contradiction in our time.

While Christopher is not working, he enjoys time with his family and friends, camping, hiking, woodworking, weightlifting, and reading.

Christopher has a passion for those suffering with sexual and substance-related addictions, trauma, and abuse that desire to understand this life in the context of Jesus Christ.

More About Christopher Kaplan, MS, LPCC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and owner of Little Desert Counseling.

Why Little Desert Counseling?

The Little Desert is not only the place where the person encounters his poverty, but the place when impossibility meets possibility. It is a paradox within the life lived with Christ Jesus where hunger and satiation exist simultaneously between the slavery of Egypt and the ordered freedom of the Promised Land. We may experience the milk and honey of God's Promise when we embrace our weakness with Him. This is the place we inevitably find ourselves on the journey of healing and restoration from the wounds we inherit.
