Message from Therapist

My goal as a therapist is to build a trusting therapeutic relationship with my patients by merging the tools of psychology with teachings of the Catholic faith, to provide each individual, couple, and family guidance through their relational, emotional and psychological hardships. I work with each patient so they may find the mental/spiritual balance that is required to nurture their personal development and social growth.

I dedicate my work to the Lord, and to all the people who need someone to listen.

Bio:
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Florida and the Founder/Clinical Director of Effeta Wellness Center. I have a Master's in Guidance and Counseling and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry for Hispanics (MAPMH) at Barry University.

I have experience working with bereavement and post-abortion bereavement cases. I have written manuals on these topics for the South Florida Hispanic Ministry, with versions for both, leaders and mourners, which have helped form bereavement ministries in Florida and in dioceses throughout the southeastern states. I also have experience working with cases of anxiety, depression, and trauma among others; always with psychology and Catholic faith, at the forefront of all my work.

I also have a certification in Theology of the Body, which helps me work with my younger patients more effectively on themes of sexuality and development.

I am an active Catholic, serving my parish for over 18 years in different ministries. I served as a coordinator with my husband of the marriage group in our parish for 3 consecutive years and we are currently serving as extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion. Through the Catholic faith, I am able to help my patients find the true meaning of their life and their mission.
