Message from Therapist

Entering into the right therapeutic relationship is the first step toward healing and change. Creating a safe environment for this relationship to develop is something that I take to heart and see as a key component to effective therapy. Working collaboratively we will explore the origins of any problems or pain you have be struggling with, at a pace that is safe and comfortable for you as the client. As mental and emotional material is explored, the ability to experience greater freedom and enjoyment in your relationships, work, and family life is to be found within you.

Using the therapeutic relationship as the core focus of therapy, you as the client, will be able to experience more parts of yourself. Not only will this lead to greater insight into your current struggles, but it will also create new emotional experiences that are at the heart of change.

I enjoy providing psychotherapy for adults, young adults, couples, and families. Thank you for taking the time to read about how I like to work, and if you feel like we might be a possible therapeutic fit, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Practice Info

Bio:
My education in psychotherapy started at the University of California Santa Cruz where I received my Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology, and studied under some well know and prestigious professors and clinicians in the areas of social, developmental, personality, and clinical psychology.

I then received my Masters of the Arts in Counseling Psychology/Psychotherapy at John F. Kennedy University, which is well known in the field for producing respected psychotherapists. I have had experience working with a wide range of clientele: from Adults at various stages in life, Children (ages 5 -12) and Teens, Couples, and doing Family therapy.

I completed taking part in the 'Palo Alto Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Fellowship Year', and am continuing with more in-depth studies in Psychoanalysis later this year. Personally, I have been an active Roman Catholic for many years. In addition to my studies in psychotherapy, I have spent time doing in-depth research into where the spiritual and the psychological parts of a person crossover, and how by improving one part (i.e., psychological) in an individual's life, the other (i.e., spiritual) benefits just as much if not more.

Also, and most importantly, I am living the life of a modern day Catholic family man, having been married for over 20 years and currently raising a family of my own, knowing full well all the joys and struggles that go along with it. I strive to build the best therapeutic relationship with all my clients, and always work to achieve all the goals and hopes my clients bring to therapy.

Another area that specialize in is working with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, and even complex trauma, related to mental/emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect.
