Hello and welcome. I work primarily with children as young as three-years-old, their parents, and their families when appropriate and desired. My preferred approach is Play Therapy because play is a child's natural language through which they grow, develop, learn, and cultivate friendships.
For children, play:
* Builds trust and mastery
* Fosters learning and acceptable behavior
* Regulates emotions
* Reduces anxiety
* Promotes creative thinking and problem solving
* Encourages communication
* Elevates the spirit and self-esteem
I help children manage strong emotions and develop a central locus of control. I help them discover their gifts and how to use them to help themselves and be of service to others.
I also enjoy working with and supporting parents on their parenting journey. We often find ourselves parenting the way we were parented and discover that maybe we'd like to try something new. I help parents reflect on their personal experiences to then develop new approaches as they embark on their unique journey.
