The foundation which guides my approach is that there is an objective truth that can be found by using principles of reason. Whatever paradigm chosen in helping a client, it is subordinate to an overarching trust and belief in this objective truth which can lead to flourishing. I have almost 20 years of experience in the counseling profession as a counselor, counselor educator, and supervisor.
Additionally, I have a Master of Arts in Theology that provides a framework for choosing appropriate theoretical approaches based on client goals. I have worked with many diverse clients and have extensive experience integrating spirituality when treating substance use disorders, eating disorders, trauma, family and relational issues, and communication skills.
I also provide supervision to LPC-Associates in the state of Texas.
Dr. Vyvlecka is a counselor educator, has worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Texas since 2006, and as Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) since 2013. She specializes in working with addiction, trauma, eating disorders, communication training, and relational issues. A majority of her work as a clinician has been in residential treatment centers for substance abuse where she worked with those suffering from dual diagnoses. Dr. Vyvlecka has also taught Theology at the undergraduate level.
She also provides supervision for counselor-associates. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association.
