Message from Therapist

As a Catholic clinical psychologist and mental health counselor, I work with individuals, couples and families who desire the comfort of working with an orthodox Catholic who will not dissuade them from the Sacraments, Catechism, and the traditions of the Church, as do many secular clinicians.  Treatment focuses on psychological science rooted in Catholic anthropology; not pastoral counseling.  Clients who request this approach will be provided an integration of the beliefs of the Catholic Church in the therapeutic framework of the treatment.

I view people as being nuanced and unique which requires a level of depth work that is not traditionally offered for some modalities of mental health services. The treatment I provide attempts to get to the “root of the problem” rather than focusing exclusively on symptom reduction. This approach allows access to deeper issues that exist in one’s personality structure, as these areas are often the source of psychological symptoms and suffering. Treatment has a significant focus on understanding the inner and external conflicts that limit growth for relationships with self, family, others, and religious faith.

These impediments can affect our decision making, understanding of healthy love, and even our experience of God.  Focusing on the "splinter in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye" (Matthew 7:1) can limit our ability to authentically give and receive love.  The "wooden beam" may have been placed there knowingly or unknowingly through experiences and consequences we have chosen or may have been imposed on us during our lives.  These developmental arrests limit our ability to fully know, love and serve God.

Treatment may occur for a long or short-term basis depending on the need and situation.  Psychological assessments are an additional service that may be utilized to aid in case conceptualization, diagnosing, and treatment planning for clients.

To learn more about services and how we can work together, please call today.  All calls are confidential.  During the initial phone call, we can discuss the reason(s) why you are seeking treatment, available meeting times, fees, and address any potential questions that you may have.

My office is located on the south side of Indianapolis, IN  - just 10 minutes south of downtown and 2 miles south of the interstate.
