I've been Catholic since March 25, 1989 and since then my life has never been the same - in a beautiful way! In my practice, we address clinical issues but the foundation of that will be deeply guided by the truth of the Catholic faith with a Christian understanding of love and compassion. I believe turning to Our Loving Mother and the saints for assistance is most profound and helpful as we journey through your life and issues.
I work with a variety of issues, including: anxiety, trauma, grief, post-abortion syndrome, and eating disorders.

My name is Karen Hellenberg and I have a private practice called Breakthrough Counseling, Inc. in Evansville, Indiana. I have been Catholic since March 25, 1989 and have had a faith-filled life since my conversion into the Catholic faith. I have been married for over 17 years. I spend an hour a week in Adoration seeking our Lord's will and guidance for myself, as well as for my clients. I enjoy reading biographies of those who have led faith-filled lives such as the saints. One of my favorite books is "My Daily Bread".
My areas of focus are helping people with anxiety, trauma, grief, marriage, and eating disorders. I am trained and certified internationally in EMDR via the EMDRIA institute. I Implement clinical skills such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Internal Family Systems guided by strong foundation in the Catholic faith.
