Serviam Counseling
Serviam - Latin for “I will serve” - was St. Michael the Archangel’s powerful response to Satan’s rebellion. This word embodies my mission to serve God and others through the gift of therapy. The word Serviam embodies a spirit of humility, obedience to God’s will, and selfless service that I hope to inspire in you. I hope that through our work, you can go and carry on this mission yourself, glorifying God through the service of others.
I offer a radically different and authentically Catholic approach to mental health. Utilizing a combination of cognitive-behavioral techniques, rooted in Thomistic Psychology and the wisdom of The Church, Serviam Counseling can help you address issues like anger, stress, performance, guilt, anxiety, and relationships, encouraging you to embrace your God-given purpose and lead a virtuous life. Ultimately, aiming to empower Catholics to find harmony between faith, reason, and psychological well-being, and live fully alive.
I’m a husband and father of two, who enjoys trying new foods with my wife and ice cream dates with my kids. Living the vocation myself, it is my mission to help strengthen marriages and family life. As Sister Lucia said, “the final battle between the kingdom of Christ and Satan will be over marriage and the family” and I desire to do my part in helping myself and others win that battle.
Growing up, basketball was my passion. I spent countless hours working to perfect my craft with 6 am workouts and late night training sessions. God took my passion and used it to draw me to Franciscan University where I was able to not only play the game that I love, but also be immersed in an environment that helped make my Catholic faith my own. As a once collegiate athlete myself, I know the struggle of perfectionism, performance anxiety, and integrating my faith and my sport. It is my passion to help other athletes engage in their craft the way God intended us to.
