Message from Therapist

I provide professional counseling that integrates evidence based psychotherapy practices, Catholic theology and Christian spirituality into my work with clients. I offer virtual Telehealth sessions for anyone currently residing in the state of Texas and in-person office sessions for anyone who lives in the Laredo, Texas area.

I work with adults, couples, families, adolescents (ages 12 and up), priests, religious men and women, seminarians, and deacons. I try to work from the best of reason granted by God and the wisdom that Christ and his Church has to offer. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, honoring the unique beauty in how you have been created. My goal is to accompany you as we work together to accomplish your goals.

Contact me by email or call for your free 15-minute phone consultation.  I’d love to help.

Bio:
Matthew Pici is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned his graduate degree in counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. He has worked as a Catholic school counselor, principal, campus minister, art teacher, and religion teacher in the past.

Matthew specializes in offering a counseling approach that incorporates the Catholic faith and prayer into the counseling relationship while focusing on each person's strengths.  In counseling, he can address anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, unwanted sexual behavior, issues affecting middle, high school, and college students, and issues affecting men. Matthew primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while including elements of other therapeutic approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.  Matthew has a Bachelor’s degree in Art and incorporates Art Therapy into the therapeutic process when the client feels comfortable.

Matthew has been involved in various forms of ministry and Catholic education for the past 18 years.  Matthew worked in education for over 15 years.  This led to several leadership roles in administration positions and on school boards.  In addition to his work in Catholic Schools, Matthew has worked with LifeTeen, That Man Is You, and co-coordinated an Awakening retreat.  His adult life has been dedicated to helping people come closer to Christ through the Church.
