Message from Therapist

I have over 17 years of diverse clinical experience providing professional therapeutic techniques to individuals and specialize with those experiencing trauma and impactful life events, depression, anxiety, addiction, grief issues, adjustment difficulties, and life transitions.

I offer individual and group therapy for people ages 18 - 65+

I also have a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Heart of Christ/Avila Institute School of Spiritual Direction and Formation to better serve the Catholic/Christian faithful on spiritual issues.

Life, at times, can take interesting turns. Sometimes these detours leave us wondering how to keep moving forward when we're not sure where we're going. Other times we find ourselves up against a wall we didn't even know was there.

In these circumstances turning to a trained, compassionate person of faith may be exactly what's needed. Counseling isn't only for those with significant life events and issues - it's also for those who find themselves stuck. I welcome you to contact me if this sounds like you.

My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, encouraging environment to support you through your journey to achieve personal healing.

Bio:
My area of specialty is working with those with PTSD and big “T” trauma histories including sexual, physical, verbal abuse; sexual assault, and domestic violence. And small “t” trauma histories that result from impactful incidences. However, I also regularly counsel those suffering from depression, anxiety, addiction, grief issues, adjustment difficulties, and spiritual trauma. I offer individual therapy and group therapy.

I felt a profound calling to do this work after having experienced significant events within my family and my subsequent healing through counseling and people of faith. I began my career serving some of the poorest neighborhoods of Cleveland doing Crisis Intervention Counseling with those who had suffered significant trauma. I’ve since worked in community agencies, outpatient hospital settings, and private practice for over 17 years. Cooperating with God’s grace, I later returned to school to earn a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Heart of Christ/Avila Institute School of Spiritual Direction and Formation to better serve the Catholic/Christian faithful.

More About Nellie Krawczynski, MSW, LISW-S

I have significant experience working with trauma and impactful life events. I utilize EMDR, CBT and Internal Family Systems therapy. What I add to this specialty culminated with my training as a Spiritual Director.  In my counseling ministry, I not only help you work through your anxiety, depression, trauma, or problems; you also learn how to pray through them. I read somewhere that counseling is at the service of spiritual direction. I know this to be true. With counseling, our inner wounds and their causes are exposed for emotional healing - we take that to prayer so God can transform us. The more internal resolution we gain the more open were are to the Holy Spirit working in our lives drawing us closer to the Trinity.

Currently I am only seeing people who live in Ohio due to new licensing rules.
