More About Nicholas Kisielewski, MA, LLC

I practice primarily from a CBT-informed approach. CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) is one of the most widely recognized and researched evidence-based treatments that is used in counseling to treat a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and other self-defeating behaviors. An evidence-based treatment is one that has been scientifically validated for its effectiveness. In CBT, the therapist and client work together to identify and then change self-destructive patterns of thought and behavior that lead to various forms of personal distress (emotional, spiritual, relational, etc.). CBT integrates well with the teachings of the Catholic Church, because it's about changing the way we think and act - a core concept that is at the heart of Sacred Scripture.

"Do not conform yourselves to this age but be transformed by the renewal of your mind ..."
(Rom 12:2).
