You've tried to ignore or fix the problem but it hasn't gone away. You are a caregiver, therapist, or in a role dedicated to helping others and struggling with workplace stress or burnout. You are naturally introverted or highly sensitive and wonder why people don't just "get you." You are processing what seems like a lot of emotions (anxiety, grief, changing moods, illness, sadness) or family problems (dysfunction, disconnection). Trauma, stress, and relationship issues affect us all. Being able to talk about what's going on can help you to build supports, focus your strengths, and find healthy and positive outlets.

You want to be energized, not drained from your responsibilities. You want to understand yourself better. You want to set stronger personal boundaries or get to the root of your emotions and problems. You want to talk about or make art to share your story.  You want to feel calm and in control of life again.

I combine the creative art process with counseling to help people tell their story. Click on my website link now to learn more about art therapy and contact me for a consultation or to schedule an appointment.  I offer a safe, calming, and client-paced approach to art and talk therapy. No formal art training is needed.

My Catholic faith also informs my basic approach to therapy, guiding the inherent worth in all human persons and applying attachment- and strength-based consideration toward the therapeutic process. Though faith may not be a primary reason why you seek counseling, it can be reassuring to know that your therapist comes from the same theological tradition.

Bio:
I have helped hundreds of clients build healthier coping skills, honor their health, identify their support team, and work to reach understanding and acceptance of life's challenges. I believe that art expression can work to promote insight into thoughts, feelings, actions and the intricacies of personal connection. I have presented professionally on the topics of the use of art therapy at a domestic violence agency, creativity and self-care, and increasing minority recruitment to art therapy programs. My interests include creating art, sensitivity and introversion, healing from trauma, and understanding family dynamics.

More About Rosemary Barnes Pratt, ATR-BC, LPC

Art Therapy for Healing, LLC  is a private practice serving adults and adolescents on an individual basis.

You keep asking or telling yourself:

  • Why do I keep solving my problems in the same way (that isn't working)?
  • Everybody is talking about self-care, but how do I start?
  • How come I find myself in the same types of relationships over and over?
  • Who can help me tell an important part of my story?
  • I think I know how to take care of myself, but how come I don't feel relaxed?
  • I think I might like to try making art to express myself, but I can't even draw a straight line!
  • How can I successfully adjust to this new change in my life?

The Bottom Line:
You want to be energized, not drained from your responsibilities. You want to understand yourself better. You want to set stronger personal boundaries or get to the root of your emotions and problems. You want to talk about or make art to share your story.

By working together with me, you can achieve your goals, feel calm and in control of life again.
