Seeds of Hope is now servicing clients in Connecticut and in Massachusetts.  Seeds of Hope is a private counseling practice that provides support to individuals, couples, and families as they successfully move through challenging situations.  Creating a trusting environment and with compassionate clinical excellence, I work with individual adult clients and married couples to help develop strengths, support systems, awareness and coping mechanisms so that they can quickly and effectively improve their wellness and their relationships.

I am passionate about helping individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss to move through their situations and emerge with a restored sense of self and a renewed sense of hope.

Bio:
Shelly Polo Kennedy made the decision to return to college as an adult while she was raising her 3 children, and graduated from St Joseph College in 2004 with a Bachelor Degree, majoring in Social Work and Minoring in Religious Studies. After finishing at St. Joseph’s, she went on to complete her graduate studies at Fordham University where she received a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Clinical Concentration, with specialization in Older Persons and Their Families.

She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Connecticut and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts.

Upon graduation, Shelly worked 6 years as a medical social worker with an area hospice team. She gained experience in clinical supervision for an outpatient behavioral health clinic. She then took the challenge of creating a behavioral health program from the ground up, where she spent the next 4 years on the project as clinical director until she opened her private practice, Seeds of Hope.

Seeds of Hope is a private counseling practice that provides support to individuals, couples, and families.

Effective therapy begins with establishing a foundation of trust between counselor and client.
Through trust and openness, we encourage persons to grow and become the best version of themselves. Our approach to therapy addresses and supports the physical, emotional, intellectual, relational, and spiritual needs of each client.
